Now that the forum is public and the response has been just a bit overwhelming (highly positive), I’m compiling a list of things I’d like to fix/add/research, and I figure I might as well make this public so people know what I’m working on.

I’ll edit this post as I update stuff, maybe make it into a bit of a progress report. As always, if you have any suggestions you can post them in the Feedback Thread.

I can’t promise when any of this will be implemented because I’m rather busy for the next week or two so finishing up the next big video and applying for a job, but here is the current list in no particular order:

  • Replace Patreon promo banner with something in an animated web 1.0 style, possibly a 2 or 3 frame gif
  • Limit the width of YouTube embeds
  • embed hotlinked images and videos?
  • Make the mobile header logo just a skosh taller
  • Make it more clear when a post is a reply, implement a multi-reply feature? Not possible
  • Animated gif avatars?
  • Figure out the Adsense stuff abandoned
  • Add pronouns next to username & title? Good as is
  • Make a public forum monthly expenses thread
  • Rewrite FAQ with clearer division between rules and feature instructions
  • Investigate reasonable likes limit Daily likes limit base set to 200
  • Remove “similar topics” popup
  • Make signature text size a little smaller than post text size
  • BUG: reply popup is in some cases wider than screen and not centered on mobile/lower resolution screens
  • Limit the width of Twitch/other embeds in small chat
  • Make unread topic links bold or clearer somehow
  • Figure out group CSS for proper username coloring according to group
  • Add signature rules in profile settings somewhere?
  • Add a quick summary to the top of the privacy policy and fix all the internal links
  • Long term: make emails look nice/fit branding
  • Less saturated optional color palette for dark mode

As you can see, not a small list, and I keep getting new ideas at a rate of about a dozen a day, but right now everything seems to be working as it should so I’ll keep chiseling away at these as time goes by.
