General Self-Promo Thread

You are free to post any self-promotion thread here or any other appropriate category, but I thought it’d be a good idea to make a general thread too where you can show off the things you’ve made and/or are making.

As for me, while I haven’t added anything to it in a while because life keeps getting in the way and my focus is on the YouTube stuff right now, but I always enjoy showing off the various things I’ve put on my itch.io page.

A bunch of zines made with the awesome Electric Zine Maker and the browser-based reader a made for it, a bunch of fonts that I’m really proud of, and a handful of other game-like things.

Hello! My name is Aaron (or Scabzilla) and I’m one of the 4 hosts of the gaming podcast, Super Ghost. It’s a very casual and often comedic podcast where we discuss one or two bits of gaming news and then dive into what games we’re playing or what we’re watching, and then we’ll recommend a random game at the end for the listeners to check out!
Listen to it here ► https://superghost.site/

I also blog sometimes ► https://scabshack.lol/

Along with my wife McKenna, I host a podcast that is going through the Nintendo 64 Library in chronological order. We are going through the North American release order but are planning to pepper in non US releases as we go! We do two main episodes a month where we cover a game and in the in-between weeks we do side quests on games from other consoles, or even other media from the time like movies. We also have an episode coming out soon with a certain… Bob.

Check out our website that my brother made! We also stream on twitch and we upload the vods as well as our episodes to YouTube. You can also follow us on Bluesky, support us on Patreon, and join our Discord.

Thanks!

Hey there! I’m Kitsune, creative director over at Team Lilypunk.

We’re working on Heavensfall, a narrative-focused Tactical Mecha RPG.

Heavensfall is envisioned as a game about a revolution against an exploitative coalition of space colonies with two separate, but tightly interwoven gameplay loops.

The “Slice of Life Sim” component will allow the player to control their chosen protagonist directly, engaging in daily life, pursuing relationships with their squadmates, and interacting with the narrative on a personal level. The goal is to facilitate more personal engagement with the characters and the narrative, and promote the understanding that these characters are still functioning as people (or at least trying their best) outside of the violence and chaos of urban and space warfare. This portion of the game will be illustrated through an isometric viewpoint, coupled with Visual Novel-esque dialogue and choice systems. The player can move freely throughout various environments they may be stationed at in between combat - be it a field encampment, an occupied city, a vessel they serve aboard, or a space station.

Management of personal free time and mental health should be key points to touch on, but more important is a Persona-esque “Bonds” mechanic. These “Bonds” are a gamified representation of the player character’s interpersonal relationships with their fellow pilots and various other characters throughout their campaign. They can progress in different ways, and in turn, can affect the overarching narrative of the character’s personal campaign. In addition, pursuing certain Bonds will grant the character access to appropriate equipment, skills, and abilities related to the Bond in question. As such, they serve to drive the player’s progression in…

Tactical Mecha RPG segments.

This component of Heavensfall will be the driving action of the game. Each of the campaigns centers on a pilot fighting in the rebellion of Earth against the spaceborne Empyrean Coalition, and this portion of the game will depict that warfare in detail. Players will command a small squad of Striders during skirmishes in this conflict. An isometric, “drone camera” viewpoint will be the default perspective, during which the game controls in a turn based fashion, a la XCOM or Fire Emblem.

However, rather than commanding units to move and fire from afar, players will select an individual character to control for a brief segment of semi-realtime combat. They will be able to move their unit freely, using up a limited meter of Action Points to do so, and aim their shots from an over-the-shoulder camera viewpoint. During this time, the enemy units may also fire freely on the controlled character, forcing the player to consider their approaches carefully, and make their moves quickly and decisively, lest they be cut down. Likewise, the enemy force can be badly hampered or even destroyed by proper positioning and concentration of firepower. The player will have a limited number of orders they can give to units per turn, allowing for some level of tactical flexibility. They may spread their Orders over the squad to have them move and fight as a unit, or command a single unit multiple times to make a focused push, at the risk of overextending, or even straining their pilot and incurring psychological penalties.

Environments will vary. Urban warfare will be typical on the ruined Earth, but as the conflict progresses, battles may occur in space, in the desert, or within the depths of the ocean. Enemies will likewise have some variety - enemy Striders will not be uncommon, but nor will enemy infantry, tanks, airborne drones, and titanic spacecraft that must be taken apart piecemeal.

I run a devlog on Neocities, but Bluesky is where I post most consistently. I’d love to have a playable alpha demo released to the public by the end of the year, and we’re working on a Kickstarter as well - though that probably won’t be dropping until the first half of 2026.

We also run a Ko-Fi - we’d really appreciate any support you can spare!

All right, I suppose I’ll self-promote. :head_shaking_vertically:

So, I mainly do Youtube videos over here. My focus is primarily on video games just due to Youtube’s pretty severe issues with copyright for film/tv show clips. They’re workable limitations if you know how to get around them, but it makes the editing process a lot more difficult so I moved away lol. I spend a lot of time in the writing and research process, with a lot of information I need to cut just for the sake of getting a video out, so I’ve started making my own website just to host unedited scripts. It only has two scripts on there and is pretty broken, but hey it’s a start.

Besides that, I have a Patreon which technicallyyyy has exclusive content (like one unfinished video on Twin Peaks), but is mostly just there to financially support me if what I do is something you feel is worth supporting. I tend to dislike hard paywalls, so usually anything I make will be public after a short period of time. Anyway, you can find that here.

So, uhhhh, that’s it. See you around the forums ig.

I’ve got a Kickstarter running for my next book, which covers a chunk of PlayStation games for fans of the original system. This one isn’t dedicated to a single publisher, like my other volumes, but instead covers games that were re-released as greatest hits titles.

I’ve got a lot of great contributors and I am really proud of this one.

I currently operate 3 websites.

  • OgreBattle64.net is my fan site for Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber. It’s been online for a little more than 5 years now, and I still have a lot of plans for future additions. I intentionally focused first on guides and details that were not readily available from other websites. I’m currently working on a website redesign to make some future updates easier.

  • Zelda Archive is an archive of The Legend of Zelda fan projects (primarily fan sites at the moment). (If you have trouble viewing it today, it’s because I accidentally let the SSL certificate expire. It’s fixed now, but it takes a little bit of time for it to reactivate ) I first created a Zelda fan site in 2002, and the online Zelda community has grown to become massive since then. It’s important to me that we do not lose our history, so I began documenting everything I could find around 10 years ago. I still have tons of information waiting to be added and there’s so much more to find. In addition to the archive itself, I began reviving some old websites. I’m currently (very slowly) working to revive the first known Zelda fan site (thankfully with the blessing of the original creator). I’ve also revived an old website called Clock Town Central that I thought was all but completely lost a year ago.

  • Last, but certainly not least, is Zelda Universe - which many of you may already be familiar with. I did start the website, and I do not currently own it. I am one of four webmasters that maintain the project (our team of volunteers averages 75-ish people to keep it all going). My job is specifically overseeing the website; the others oversee our media, events, etc.

Zelda Universe began as a website run by one teenager. As all the Zelda fan site creators got older and didn’t have the time to dedicate anymore, several of us converged on Zelda Universe as our place to work together to build one big project. I joined the team in 2011 and I still get to work with friends I first met online in 2002.

  • Bonus: I don’t have any responsibilities with this project anymore, but I like to stop by and give encouragement occasionally. I’m one of the founding administrators of Zelda Wiki. Please support independent Wikis.

I used to frequent Zelda Universe, Zelda Wiki, and the Zelda Dungeon site so much in the early 2010s. Those sites still rule, though I don’t frequent them quite as much these days. I should pop back in

Zelda Universe still has a forum.

If you ever had an account, it’s probably still there.

Since we’re bringing back the spirit of the old internet with forums, I should probably promote my Sprite Comic webpage here. You are not immune to Gupaganda.

There’s also a BlueSky account if you wanna follow that too.

I publish what was up to a few months ago a fortnightly digital retro game and anime zine, Between the Scanlines, over thirty issues strong, but has been on hiatus due to some mental health struggles and a few other things. Finally getting back into a more regular schedule again this week, as well as scrambling to finish putting together a spin-off physical mag.

I also write regular articles and retrospectives over on my site, Scanline Artifacts.

Heya, I’m Silver, I’m working on a flight exploration game called Alice’s Current Draft, releasing sometime next year hopefully.

Hesitate to say cozy or ghibli inspired because those have become loaded statements but I aim to actually embody those ideals. The game is very explicitly set post post apocalypse, with obvious war wreckage everywhere. And I have a personal bend to it that I intend to shine light on.

It’s the last shot of the steam trailer (oh jeez I need to update it), but it’s referencing the people in the Japanese internment camps, of which I am a descendant of.

Hi! I’m Nige and I’m making a VR (and non-VR) mech sim called OVRLRD. It’s like other VR mech sims only slower, thonkier and every switch, button and lever in the cockpit has a function. It’s got a free demo and I always need more testers and feedback!

OVRLRD looks rad - the cockpit looks so fun to operate and I love the HUD elements that appear on the front windshield (if that’s the proper term for the window on the front of a mech cockpit). Reminds me of another game I love, Carrier Command 2. Also there must be something about this forum and mech game devs, because this isn’t the first that’s been shared! I saw you already noticed Heavensfall in its thread, and there are also a lot of Lancer fans in the currently active TTRPG thread.

I was not expecting there to be so much music on this link holy moly - I’ll give it a listen!
