What game(s) have you been enjoying recently?

i need a new game to completely immerse myself into, i’ve got plenty of viable candidates but not entirely sure what it is that’ll scratch the itch my brain has.

just finished replaying the coffee talk games as well as dipping in and out of dorfromantik and vampire survivors.

I recently finished Ambrosia Sky which was nice. Bit buggy here and there but overall engaging concept and amazing art style. Hope the other acts will be released.

Also currently enjoying Deep Space Exploitation on the Deck, and some Dog Witch in between.

I’m currently getting everything in Ball X Pit, it’s pretty addictive.

I started playing Trails in the Sky SC a few weeks ago and was a bit bored by the '“vilain of the week” kind-of-structure but I’ve just finished the chapter 3 and the hype is back. Despite the general consensus, I’ve found that the pacing in the first game was much more enjoyable but I can’t wait to see where the story goes…

I’m on SC myself

Is it just me or is this one way harder than the first?

I finished Thank Goodness You’re Here over the weekend. I don’t know what I was expecting but I was surprised (pleasantly) and it’s a really funny experience from start to finish. Fun for a weekend!

No I think it’s harder too, I played FC on easy difficulty to speed up the game and progress in the story quickly but in SC even in easy mode some bosses demolished me.

I got Kirby Air Riders on launch day last week. I enjoyed the original Air Ride a lot as a kid but was never very good at it at all, so I figured Air Riders would also fall into the category of being a novelty and that I’d have fun messing with my friends in online City Trials.

I was completely wrong - I have not been able to put this game down. I’m a sucker for any Kirby game, Sakurai-directed or not, but this to me feels like Sora firing on all cylinders. I don’t know if the handling has changed that much from the original, but I’m certainly able to control this game better, I’m learning more about the different machines, and I’m so invested in trying out new courses with new characters. It’s also just a great celebration of all things Kirby (though I am a bit bummed there’s no Star Allies or Forgotten World representation).

I finally got around to Signalis, no idea why it’s taken me so long as low-poly low-res classic top-down survival horror ticks quite literally every single box for me lol

Absolutely adoring it so far, unsurprisingly - puzzles are perfectly done, they feel fantastic to solve but never keep me stuck. Environment and world building are phenomenal too

Won’t post story details in case anyone else is as slow as I am getting to this, but I’ve loved the twists and turns its taken and how willing it is to slowly let things become clear over time

I’m a huge final fantasy fan but I can’t get into FF10, I tried many times but drop it after few hours.

So I’ve never play FF10-2…… until now !! And wow this game is so great, the combat is so fast-paced. I love the fact you can swap roles in the middle of the fight, it’s like FF13 was already there at that time.

I also love the structure and story progression, it feels a bit like romancing saga free-form scenario, you just visit some places and shit happens. Truly the game is a surprise for me, I love it

started and finished DISPATCH and wow, didn’t expect that. Not really a fan of superhero themes overall, but this was great in terms of writing, VO obviously, visual style (also obviously) and all in all entertaining. Just the right amount of dick jokes too.

It also left me with the feel that it may be worth replaying, just to get some other dialogues. Thats something not even the OG telltale games gave me in that sense.

Didnt really like the QTE elements, or most of them, and I also think the map kinda sucked with a controller for a few particular reasons, but then again I didnt turn it off or switched to mouse either so thats on me.

I just mastered another Dragon Quest. God told jokes and danced in his boxers while I battled him! Good game! <3

I wanna master EVERY Dragon Quest, including the spinoffs.

I returned to Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom even though I beat it earlier this year, I think I may make a genuine attempt to 100% it.

If you’re not familiar with it, it’s the previous game by the developers of CloverPit, the easiest way to describe it is to imagine if Crazy Taxi was Mario 64. It’s amazing and there’s genuinely nothing else like it, which is why it’s a little sad it’s not gotten as much attention as Cloverpit, which is a good game, but it’s also another Number Go Up Roguelike in a sea of them.

Anyway if you like 3D collectathons, I highly recommend it.

Playing a bunch of RPGs at the moment, Dark Souls 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance and Pillars of Eternity. All games I have played before!

I’m familiar with Souls games and played DS2 when it came out so this playthrough should be fairly relaxed. I love the main hub area, Majula, so much.

With KCD I played it a couple of years ago and stopped just after the big tutorial area. This time I almost gave up when fell in a ditch and slowly bled to death from my left foot over the course of 18 in-game hours (I thought the bleeding would stop like in real life.) It was too late at night so the bathhouse (the healing area in the game) was locked up but in the end I managed to break in, steal some bandages and stop the bleeding at 2hp. I like to think I broke in and took a bath instead. If I didn’t survive I think I would have closed the game and never returned.

When I first played POE I got about 15 hours in and stopped, this time I actually want to finish it. The lore is quite overwhelming but this is the third time I’ve restarted so everything is actually sticking this time. I think it’s such a good game, I just need to force myself to play it a bit because it’s definitely not a compulsive game and the amount of reading is a bit tiring.

FFX-2 FTW !!! My favourite of the serie, I think, and I’ve played a bunch.
Combat is fantastic, music is disco, girls are sassy, story’s epic.

It was hard when it went out during 00’s to tell that you enjoy taht game because of people being jerks, I’m glad people are enjoying it now and seeing how fun, cool and goofy that game is !

Recently played the new Elden Ring Nightreign expansion, The Forsaken Hollows and have been really enjoying it so far. I think it has highlighted to me that I like it when a roguelike/lite is mean to me, but definitely within a goldilocks zone. I remember when Risk of Rain 2 first added the final boss Mithrix to the game it felt unbelievably punishing and we got pretty frustrated. I’m not sure why I disliked that and why I’m totally cool with Nightreign’s new map making my runs non-viable within like ten minutes of starting because I have no idea what I’m doing and the game requires some level of optimal play to succeed.

Raidou Remastered. It’s my very first Atlus game since I like action RPGs and the combat makes me think of Xanadu Next and Tales of Graces f, which I both enjoyed a lot.

It’s been two weeks since I finished Zelda: Twilight Princess and I have to say: It’s pretty cool. The way you can fight enemies is basically the succession to Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That means you have different ways of fighting and killing enemies. The boss fights in particular are great! Then again, fighting regular enemies in Hyrule Field was too easy, repetitive and boring at times. I don’t think it’s my favourite Zelda game (which is A Link to the Past), but it is a solid third behind Ocarina of Time. Mind you, I haven’t really played Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom yet :face_with_hand_over_mouth:. Next up is Wind Waker…or maybe I will be playing Unbeatable . Not only does Unbeatable look great, but I can’t really warm to Wind Waker

i loved the dungeons in twilight princess when it came out, especially in contrast with wind waker but everything else left me feeling really cold. i should really give them both another go with the hd remasters. curious to see how you find botw and totk!
