Came across this interview by Read Only Memo with Taki Udon, it’s a pretty open and frank, plus I thought it was just interesting how much thought went into creating this. Normally I’d quote some choice lines but the whole thing is fascinating, I recommend giving it a click:
Gonna did into this later, but after a rash of kinda cash grabby FPGA consoles of varying quality, it’s good to see one come out whose main ingredient really is passion
I appreciated the admission of “there’s a reason no one else does this but I just wasn’t comfortable doing it any other way”. It’s rare to see someone running a business who’s just like “yeah it was dumb, but it’s my dumb”.
That’s how I run my youtube channel also
Enjoying what you do for yourself (at least) and owning it no matter what is the best way IMO.
I’m very excited to see the old Dualshocks get produced anew. My weird habit of collecting old controllers definitely aligns with these FPGAs. I’ll be watching closely if there’s a PC-compatible controller with all these new-fangled materials released down the line.
