Game Collecting Megathread

I’ve had to slow down on my game collecting lately because of the finances and honestly I’m running out of room in my tiny house, but I find it hard to resist big box PC games when I find them in the wild.

The X-Files: Unrestricted Access isn’t a game technically, just an interactive CD-ROM, but it’s a beautiful box that complements my big box version of The X-Files Game wonderfully.

I generally don’t collect physical games, but as rhythm games enjoyer and one of the 2 people on the planet that consider PSV a good console I recently bought Taiko no Tatsujin V-Version. It never came outside of Japan/China/Korea but my goddess I needed it so much.

As a certified Physical Stuff Hater™ my entire physical collection is pretty small, I also really need to play through Signalis

I totally missed this thread until now. :open_mouth:

I have also slowed down my physical collection because of money and space. I’ve been selling off portions of my collection from time-to-time and buying digital more often. But I still have a pretty significant collection; I’ll have to make a point to share new pick-ups and occasional other things.

I am currently trying to convince myself that I don’t want to buy a Jaguar CD system.

Edit: Caved and bought one.

Does the Evercade count? I used to buy every cart, but I no longer have room and it looks they don’t support indies so much anymore?

It was neat to play some indie retro games on a cart, but I think they’ll get more money if I buy it directly from them.

Of course Evercade counts!

I haven’t picked up any retro stuff lately, but I got physical copies of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Kirby Air Riders.

Definitely need to get Metroid Prime 4 sometime soon as well…but Retropalooza is coming up and I’d like some cash to buy something.

I ended up going to one local retro game store yesterday. They had a buy 2 get 1 free deal I decided not to pass on.

I picked up Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland (I collect this series), Tomb Raider 2 (my partner loves this series), and Dragon Quest Treasures (which I had been waiting to buy on sale).

I don’t think I’m ever going to get one because I have a MiSTER now for PSX, but as someone with an interest in modded consoles, how are you liking the X-station? I debated getting it for a while. I’ve done quite a few hardware mods over the years but it looked involved, so I likely would have paid for a technician to handle installation.

It’s been great so far, but I haven’t used it much because I started replaying Ocarina of Time. I picked it up with the mod already done along with the in game reset mod. I am okay with a soldering iron, but the price was decent enough that I would have only saved about fifty bucks trying to do it myself. Once I wrap up OoT I am going to finally play through Vagrant Story.

I recently bought a copy of Shadow of Destiny!! But in a twist, it is the pc port. I like to collect these odd, lesser known ports of console games. Like this is more well known, Dino Crisis got a port. BUT did you know Megaman Legends got a pc port? I’ve never seen it physically.
