Devlog - Morrowind - it's bin day in Seyda Neen

Devlog #2

I told you I was a master of scope creep, right?

Well, perhaps the scope is not quite creeping yet, but I’m definitely making it more complicated for myself.

I have decided I don’t want to make a modern day wheelie bin for my mod, but a more fantasy style one instead. I’ve thought about it a lot, and I think it adds to the comedy. I want my mod to be comedic, but not for itself to actually be a joke, at least not entirely.

So this means I’m going to make a wooden wheelie bin that fits in a bit more, this also means I trying to figure out where the wood for such a bin would be supplied for Seyda Neen.

The obvious solution is to find nearby trees:

I was hoping that upon finding this model, it might tell me what tree it was, but no…

At first I thought the “bc“ stood for basic, but after some research it seems to stand for Bitter Coast, which makes a lot more sense. Unfortunately it doesn’t give me any info as to what kind of tree it could be. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what kind of tree it is, but I would love to find a model of a cross section or something, to see what it might look like if it was made into planks.

Either way it seems like I can’t be too fussy, so I turned to Imperial prison ship the player arrives on:

This has some nice textures, perfect for my bin. Although it doesn’t quite make sense, while the port is guarded by the Imperials it’s governed by House Hlaalu. Who are likely the ones in charge of rubbish collection. Maybe I should take a look around Balmora instead?

Okay I’m getting ahead of myself… I can still make the basic structure of the wheelie bin and texture it later. Next time, I’ll actually have a model to show you I swear!

Also I found this great Khajit texture…
