Show me cool bugs, tell me about bugs, tell me about your favorite bug, show me a bug item, show me your pet bug..
And if you DO NOT like bugs, then I challenge you to find at least one bug you think looks cool and show me what bug got you on the “maybe bugs are kinda cool..”
also i think this goes without saying. no bug hate, no nasty remarks about how you want to kill xyz and especially peoples beloved pets.
and another important thing.. it is ok to be scared of insects. I’m still pretty flighty around bugs!
What I’m getting at is…
I’m doing this partially to get over my fear and to hopefully stop the irreparable damage we do to our planet when we mindlessly seek to kill these fascinating creatures : (
They are being wiped out an alarming rate right now, and I hope to have brought some cool little facts about bugs, and you can hopefully walk away with, at minimum, tolerating their existences and recognizing their importance.
We would have no crops, no silk, no honey, food webs would be very negatively impacted, and they’re very good decomposers!! (source)
pests are such a small percentage of bugs. I promise the rest are cool : D
Bugs are an interesting thing for me because, like most animals, I love appreciating them from afar, but when they get close to me I get real freaked out!
Admittedly I don’t know much about them except for the fact that they’re assassin bugs and that they live in Texas, I’m mostly here for their sickass design!
I’ve been slowly slowly drawing some pokemon loosely based off of critters that live in texas and I wanted to use this little guy to satisfy my deviant desire to make a bug/dragon type pseudo-legendary that gamefreak has so callously neglected to do for all these years (love you flygon, sorry they hate you </3)
I hope more bug lovers show up :3 love seein me some cool dudes from the comfort of my home
We’ll be coming up on bug season here soon, I usually get a bunch of dragonflies as I live on the riverbank so I’ll share pictures if there’s any good ones
