Starting off with an any% Super Mario Sunshine speedrun is interesting, looking forward to the Metroid Prime 3 run, the Lylat Wars score attack and of course the MGS Delta Snake Eater any% European Extreme.
There’s also an incredibly titled run on the schedule I’m dying to know what it’s about but I’ll let you take a look and guess.
If run titled “dlroW oiraM repuS” is someone speedrunning the WMS mod, that should be fun to watch!

WMS is a fan mod of Super Mario World where you start at the end of the game and work your way back to the first, and all levels are played right to left, with you starting at the “end” and the exit gates being at the “beginning” of each level.
Awful Block is always my favorite part of GDQ! I volunteered for some off site things again this year to help with set up. I was going to apply for the Spanish restream again this year, but I’ve just been too busy. 70 star relay is going to be wild as well, and I’m looking forward to runs from a few particular friends of mine as well. Plus, seeing F Zero GX Unleashed will be fun, that’s a mod more people should know about.
I wish I could go to a GDQ again, but until my wife can get a visa, I don’t want to travel back to the US solo. I’ve had 2 runs in past GDQs myself though.
Edit: This wasn’t actually in a mainline GDQ event, but I think this is my best speedrun that I’ve ever had on the GDQ channel. It was for Latin American Heritage Month.
I’ve really dropped off from watching GDQ in the last few years because it just doesn’t fit my schedule, hope they’re playing something good in the spare minutes I have this week
Same. They’re pretty good about getting the VODs up quick in recent years though, so usually I’ll catch the stuff I’m interested in that night/next morning.
