Today I learned that my itch page is blocked in the UK. But not in all the UK, only specific people noticed it and when I asked other British folks to check it seems highly inconsistent.
I know why my page is blocked.
I made a game some time ago that talks about trans themes and contains some gratuitous nudity. A safe for work version was provided to itch, but this did not seem to alter the game’s 18+ rating. Fair enough, maybe children aren’t supposed to play this horrible porn-full game. I will submit to the powerful overlords from a country I do not live in. Except that this obviously adult game’s page is in fact, not blocked in the UK. If you have a direct link to it, you can just check a box that says you are over 18 and you’ll be able to play it, no problem. So why is that page accessible, but my own page is blocked?

You are telling me that after making hundreds of games, one of which maybe perhaps is considered as unsafe to children according to some standards, those children cannot access the rest of my library? Also forget the children for a bit: ADULTS cannot access those games because there is no age verification checkbox on my itch page. You just get this warning:
and then you are told to look away, nothing to see here. You are an adult trying to play games that are clearly not for adults, nope, inaccessible, and you can’t even prove you’re an adult to play them. However if you are a child and someone sent you my very offensive porn game, NO PROBLEM?

what am I supposed to do in this situation? Delete the offending content and then be rewarded for my cowardice by NOT having the rest of my page restored? How do we stop the internet from becoming the way that it is becoming?
