All-time favorite mod is Tale of Two Wastelands, which lets you play Fallout 3 and New Vegas as one massive game, in the New Vegas engine. I play it a lot.

That is such a wild idea considering how far apart each game is set from one another. Still, it sounds kind of awesome.

Itā€™s a lot of fun. I donā€™t want to spoil it, but thereā€™s an in-world transport that takes you between the Capitol Wasteland to the Mojave. You could, for example, start as the Lone Wanderer, complete all the FO3 story, and then head West to become the Courierā€¦ or jump back and forth as you see fit.
