Thanks, yeah I mention knights of guinevere, where it’s all bright and cripplingly miserable at the same time. The biggest thing for me right now is getting across the rage I have I feel being a disabled artist re: the job market and ai.
Back doing stuff, this math is real ugly. It’s a basic collision check, it’s nowhere near as elegant as the nice quaternion rotation that aligns you with the normal of the ground.
Holy moly that took some effort. A friend gave me an hour long masterclass on setting up a proper blender to godot pipeline. Got to delete 98 redundant animation and blend files.
So I’m waiting on a refill of my adhd meds so focus isn’t really a thing right now. I mean even on my good medicated days I was maxing out at 5 hours of project work. And today I got 2 hours, which isn’t nothing but still I would like to have a finished thing released sometime this year.
Another thing modeled and textured. I do not like it. It doesn’t have the same grainy feels as the wii era textures I’m aiming for, but I am not an artist so have no idea how to make or find those textures.
This took three days of work, total probably 6ish hours and a lot of procrastinating. Which concerns me because that is REAL slow and I still don’t like the end result. It doesn’t feel good.
Looking at my list, I have houses to do, more stuff in the sky to make vertical movement interesting, a bunch of specialized locations for points of interest. It’s a lot and feels like I’m not making a lot of progress.
This weeks stuff. Didn’t get much done and now a new thing is broken woo.
Looking at my github list, I made a bridge, the water tube (that has a broken mesh now somewhere), found a cobblestone texture, made this big tree, and that’s basically it.
My main struggle has been finding textures that don’t suck. I don’t have a large library of them, and most of them are too high resolution for what I actually need.
I like kenney but those are too minimalist for this project.
Despite the textures being really basic, I’m not unhappy with this. I am however dramatically behind schedule. I wanted to have the whole island done this week, but had a mental health emergency.
The large things on my list are islands 3 and 4, music, npc models (can’t do pathing), some quests. Then steam api and getting stuff done for review. And a press kit ig
