Just remembered one of the top 20 final boss themes so here it is, and my favorite version
No offense to that modern version with the sick guitars, but the PC Engine version just hits different. It has some serious speed going on in the backtrack.

The soundtrack of the entire Ys series deserves to be in a Hall of Fame somewhere. It is collectively among the great music written in the 20th and 21st centuries, and it’s a shame that so few people know it.
I know the Ys 3/Oath in Felghana music better for the modern versions, but those modern versions were only made possible because the originals are so solid.

There are so many to choose from but here are some that are big favorites
Cannonball - Mega Man Zero 3. There are so many incredible covers of this song too. It just rocks and works so well as a final boss theme.
Chrono Trigger has an incredible soundtrack but I have some of the best memories with this one:
Toby Fox is a genius and this is one of my all time favorites from him.

I love this song a lot but I always have the funniest memories with it because I got up to this part of the game while having a fever and was so not mentally present so listening to this song while fighting what looked like dancing robotic ants (pluto soldiers) was the weirdest thing ever its like I was having a fever dream while fully awake. I’ll never forget or regret it.
The part of the song where it’s just metal clanking sounds was hilarious to me for unknown reasons
